Things are getting rather busy here at the Sometimes I quilt desk.
Moving day is getting ever closer, only a few weeks away. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Cas and the boys will be heading south before me and I will be moving to “Party central” (a friend’s house) so that I can see out the last of the school term. So Cas and the boys will be making the decisions about where the furniture goes and all of the rest of it, without me.
This could be a problem.
The really interesting thing is that Cas isn’t the best in the kitchen, he does toast and that is about it. So he has decided that it would be best if he get a BBQ, because he can apparently do that. I will wait and see. If all else fails The Suj can cook a little bit and there is always McDonalds...
On the work front things are very busy. We are almost half way through the final term of the year – so final reports are being written and teachers are stressed about everything. Add to that – I need to find a new job. As was pointed out to me through the week, not finding a job straight away could mean more time f

or sewing, perhaps a few weeks sitting at home... stitching... meeting Dad for coffee... could be nice. But, the money would be nicer.
On the whole quilting front... I made some ATCs this morning. They were my first effort, and I forgot to take some photos of them before I put them in the post box ready for their new owners. I have also started a new project, a stitchery and quilting one. It is from an American magazine Better Homes and Gardens 'Holiday Craft', but a design by an Australian designer, one of my favourites –
Anni Downs. I have a couple of Anni’s books and always intend to make a couple of her quilts but finally I am actually making something of hers. It is a Christmas wall hanging, and whether it is ready for Christmas this year remains to be seen, but you never know your luck.
As for the party... hasn’t happened yet. It had to be postponed due to a family emergency, apparently it is on this Friday and I may have some photos... more suggestions please, although I am rather taken with the whole idea of Kylie Mole – it was soooo funny.
Oh they were the days... ahhh youth!
I am also the proud owner of an iPhone... and it is love. More on that later.
Update: the pictured quilt is the original, from the current issue of (U.S.) Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Craft. I hope mine is as good as Anni's. Sorry if there has been any confusion.
